Communication and Media Studies, MS

    Program Description

Our Communication and Media Studies Master's program allows you to pursue interdisciplinary studies and tailor your research to your interests. You’ll examine media and communication from every angle under the guidance of global experts and be part of a welcoming and inclusive community influenced by perspectives across many disciplines and cultures around the world. The SOJC is one of the nation’s oldest accredited schools of journalism and communication and is part of the Association of American Universities as an R1 research institution. You’ll build a lasting network as you collaborate with and learn from your cohort, many of whom research the impact of media on underrepresented communities and spur positive changes in the field.

Our master’s students develop valuable analytic and research skills that are in high demand. Although most master’s graduates go on to pursue doctoral studies or media research, a communication and media studies graduate degree offers a solid foundation that can springboard you into a career in media, government, law, or nonprofit work. The master’s program is also aligned with the SOJC’s Communication and Media Studies PhD.
