Economics, MS - Accelerated Master's
Program Description
The Accelerated Master’s Program in the Economics Department (AMPED) aims to provide qualified University of Oregon undergraduate students who are graduating with a BS or BA in Economics with access to graduate-level coursework during their senior year to facilitate and speed up their pathway to obtaining a Master’s degree in the future. Well-prepared incoming freshmen students may be able to complete their bachelor’s degree and Master’s in 4 years using the 3+1 path.AMPED students who enroll in the UO’s Master’s degree program in Economics may count the 500-level courses taken as an undergraduate toward elective requirements in the Master’s degree.
Coursework in the Master's program includes a required econometrics sequence, and required courses in microeconomics theory, macroeconomics theory, and economic policy analysis. Students also have the chance to specialize through the choice of more than 20 electives.
Prerequisites
University of Oregon Economics undergraduateIn good standing with the AMPED program
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in AMPED 500-level coursework. (In order for a 500-level course taken in AMPED to count for Master’s degree program elective requirements, a student must earn at least a “B” in this course. )
- Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above
